Susanino (until 1939 Molvitino) is an urban-type settlement in the Kostroma region of Russia, included in the list of historical cities of Russia.
For the first time, the village of Molvitino was mentioned in the 16th century as the center of the local iron ore industry. The famous feat of Ivan Susanin, who was also born not far from Molvitino, is associated with the surroundings of the village.
