Berlin is the capital and largest city of Germany. The historic center of Berlin is located in a lowland, in the floodplain of the Spree River, between two moraine heights (hills) called Barnim and Teltow. A significant part of the modern city is also located on these hills: part of the territory in the administrative districts of Reinikkendorf, Pankow, Lichtenberg, Marzahn-Hellersdorf is located on the Barnim, and in the districts of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Tempelhof-Schöneberg and Neukölln – on the Upland Tölönerg.
