Located in Russia, in Kazakhstan, in China (PRC), in Mongolia.

Altai Mountains is a mountain system in Asia, in the south of Siberia and in Central Asia, consisting of high-mountain and middle mountain ridges, separated by deep river valleys and extensive mountainous and intermountain hollows. It extends from the north-west to the south-east for more than 2000 km.

The mountain system is located on the border of Russia (Altai Territory, the Republic of Tyva and the Republic of Altai), Mongolia (Bayan-Ulgiya and Khovd aimaks), China (Xinjiang-Uygur Autonomous Region) and Kazakhstan (East-Kazakhstan region). The highest point – Belukha Mountain.
