Plitvice Lakes is a national park in Croatia, located in the central part of the country, in the Licko Senjska and Karlovack County. For thousands of years, the waters of the Korana River flowing through limestone have put up barriers of travertine, forming natural dams, which, in turn, have created a number of picturesque lakes, waterfalls and caves.
